A College Student Must-Haves

It's been a week that classes have officially started. Universities have opened again their gates to the old and new faces. Streets will be busy again (Here comes the Back-To-School Traffic. :D).

Being a student is not as easy as wearing your uniform. You should also have those things that you will be needing during school days. I am here to list down my TOP 10 a college student MUST-HAVES. Then let's start counting down!

10. I.D. PICTURE

You need to have this. Most of the time, professors/instructors ask for this for their reference. Make sure to have copies of your picture in 1x1 and 2x2 sizes. These sizes are usually asked.

  9. INDEX CARD

These come in different sizes and colors. Prepare at least three sizes, preferably from 1/4 to one-whole index cards, just to be ready for your needs. This is used for your identification for your professors. Your I.D. picture is usually attached here.

     8. FILLERS/NOTEBOOKS

Filler Notebooks
Well, I'm not saying that you should buy like those you have when you were still a high school student. That is why fillers are available for you if you don't like bringing notebooks. You can buy them in bundles and you can put them in a binder so that it's organized.

You can also buy those 5-in-1 notebooks. You can write your notes there for five subjects.

Why these are must-haves? Well, you don't want to flunk a test just because you don't have a notebook to write down your notes on. Make it a habit to write during classes.

Trust me, your notebooks will be your best friend, especially during those open-notes exams. :D Sometimes, stock knowledge is not enough.
Don't be like this. HAHAHA. Stick with writing notes.

     7. BALL PENS

Notebooks are non-sense without your pens. At least, buy three pens. The blue, red, and black. Yet, also you need to have extras for emergency purposes. For instance, your friends might need one, so you can lend them. But trust me, don't expect that s/he will even return it. HAHAHAHA.

Sometimes, you tend to misplace it and no chance of finding it again. Well, that's my experience. :P mehehe. And I bet, it is an achievement if it stays with you until it lost loses its tint. WAHAHAHA!

     6. EXTRA SLIPPERS, UMBRELLA

We are aware how bipolar the weather is here in the Philippines. So be sure to always bring umbrella. The extra slippers are helpful when you have to deal with those flooded areas, if you know what I mean. Hehehe. You don't want to be changing school shoes every now and then, right? :P

This!
I remember my own experience way back August 2011 when I have to cross a knee-high flooded street just to get home. Good thing that I have my umbrella and slippers with me. Somehow, it is a little easy because I don't have to worry about my things getting wet and my shoes getting worn out.

If you don't want to be like the one in the picture, then start putting your umbrellas in your bag. Remember, be always ready!

     5. EXTRA MONEY

Why? Believe me, you will be spending more than what you are expecting. The photocopies, the unexpected contributions, and such. Save a little from your allowance. It also helps if you cut down your expenses in order to save.

     4. WRIST WATCH

Common scenario, right?
You are busy answering your exam because you still have a lot of unanswered items, and then suddenly your professor will say, "Last five minutes!" You will panic, right? The tendency is you will cram, to the point that you are not concentrating anymore and you are just guessing the answers.

This is where wrist watches comes in handy. You might say that you can see the time from your phones. Yeah. But the point is, your phone is not always at your hand, especially during class where you are not allowed to use them. With wrist watches, you can monitor your time. It will also help you to learn about Time Management.

      3. WRITING PAD

Have you ever experienced that you bought a writing pad then your professor will be giving a quiz. You took out your pad from your bag then all of your classmates are asking you to give them a piece? Your whole pad is gone! So be sure to have a lot of pad paper with you.

      2. COMMON SENSE

I think it is already self-explanatory. :P You don't have to be intelligent, just be practical and use your mind wisely.

      1. FAITH

Best thing you should have. Good grades aren't enough to help you survive college. You need to have FAITH ---- Faith from the people who are supporting you, Faith from God, Faith in yourself.

College life is not easy as what you think. Expect the unexpected. Always be ready. Enjoy ever moment.
