Are you on your way or are you already there? Nowadays, single individuals are often perceived as Loners, Love Outcasts, etc. Harsh, isn't it? People think that there is always something wrong with you when you are single. Then eventually, you keep on looking on what's wrong with you when the truth is there's none.

Let's face it. Not all singles will get married. Some will turn to what they call "Calling." These are the people who are destined to serve the Lord. They are the ones who reciprocate to the calling of the Lord. But that's a different story.

Are you like this?

This article will tackle about the different groups of Single People. Are you ready? Then, let's see where do you belong.

Living Up My Christian Spirit

12:32 PM 0 Comments A+ a-

Being a Christian is hard. How did I say so? It is because, a Christian is faced with a lot of struggles to strengthen his faith. It is a continuous process of repentance and acceptance. Living as a Christian also means living by the examples of Jesus. One way of doing this through Praise and Worship.

"So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it for the glory of God."
--- 1 Corinthians 10:31, NIV

Just as what the scripture says, we are to do everything for Him. Meaning, we are expected to live our lives with constant attitude of worship. Through this, we draw our lives closer to God. Christian music isn't just about singing songs for the Lord in our church. It is about singing our praises to Him--- regardless of whether we are with our church mates or just alone. It is singing our desires that is pleasing to our God.

I grew up living with Christian music. My mom used to be a worship leader in their church. Even after she got married, she never forgot to instill on us the importance of praising Jesus. At pre-school, I was enrolled in a christian school. There, I was more exposed to praise and worship activities. I remember, every Thursday was our Worship day. I was an active worship singer even if I was only roughly five or six then. I enjoyed singing worship songs because I feel like it was the most precious gift that I can give to Jesus. I get to utilize God' given talent to me by praising His Name.

What is great about Christian Worship is, it is expressed through music. Music affects our emotions. Every line from a song touches our hearts. Through Christian Worship, you are turning yourself to be the servant of God.

"Praise the Lord !
Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens!
Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness!
Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with flute and harp!
Praise Him with tambourine and dance; praise Him with strings and pipe!
Praise Him with sounding cymbals; praise Him with loud, clashing cymbals!"
--- Psalms 150:1-6

Aside from singing, I am fond of listening to christian music. It feels like my day would be incomplete without listening to, even one, christian music. From Don Moen to Hillsong United, I sing their songs. They strengthen my spirit when I am weak. They put a smile on my  face when I am sad. They give me hope when I'm losing it. They light my way when I'm alone in the dark.

SOUNDCLOUND and I

Well, how many times I have already said that I love singing? A lot. Singing is my passion. That is why I am always looking for ways on how to, at least, "store" my talent.

Soundcloud. This site is my best friend. Because of this, I was able to record my covers without having myself videotaped. I really don't like posting videos. I mean, it feels awkward for me. It feels like I don't look good on videos.

I started recording on Sound Cloud about six months ago. My first cover was the song When You Say Nothing at All by Allison Krauss. It turned out good, with just minor glitches in the sound background. Then from there, I continued recording more songs. As of today, I have recorded eight songs and I am planning to add more as soon as I found a perfect song to cover.

ADOBO. Delicious, isn't it? It is like the most popular dish in the Philippines. Every cook has its own version of it. And every version will take you to another level of great taste and food experience.

Adobo is a general term for a process wherein you marinate your choice of meat, whether it's pork, beef or chicken, and sometimes seafood, in a sauce comprises of different spices such as paprika, oregano with garlic, soy sauce and vinegar for flavors to blast out.

The Philippine Adobo is somehow influenced by the Spanish colonization. However, the techniques in cooking are indigenous, only the name is Spanish-origin. Adobo is known to have a long shelf life, because of vinegar as one of its ingredient, therefore making it as one of the most cooked dish. There are a lot versions that you can choose from.

It's been a week that classes have officially started. Universities have opened again their gates to the old and new faces. Streets will be busy again (Here comes the Back-To-School Traffic. :D).

Being a student is not as easy as wearing your uniform. You should also have those things that you will be needing during school days. I am here to list down my TOP 10 a college student MUST-HAVES. Then let's start counting down!

10. I.D. PICTURE

You need to have this. Most of the time, professors/instructors ask for this for their reference. Make sure to have copies of your picture in 1x1 and 2x2 sizes. These sizes are usually asked.

  9. INDEX CARD

These come in different sizes and colors. Prepare at least three sizes, preferably from 1/4 to one-whole index cards, just to be ready for your needs. This is used for your identification for your professors. Your I.D. picture is usually attached here.

MARY HIGGINS CLARK: A Book Review (Pt. 1)

10:50 AM 0 Comments A+ a-

I've been addicted to reading Fictions as early as 11 years old. Sometimes, I feel incomplete whenever I don't get the opportunity to read. It became a habit of mine.

I've been reading suspense/thriller-themed books. I find books with this certain theme a lot more interesting, compared with the usual themes like Romance and Adventure. I get to be more imaginative while reading such. I have developed my investigative skills. It also helped me widen my vocabulary and comprehension.

Anyway, when it comes to suspense/thriller fictions, one name will definitely stand out. She's no other than Mary Higgins Clark. Let's get her into details.

Mary Theresa Eleanor Higgins Clark Conheeney, or commonly known as Mary Higgins Clark, was born on December 24, 1927 at New York City. She is famous to be known as the "Queen Of Suspense Novels." Clark started writing at an early age, with writing short stories as her starters. All of her 42 Novels were bestsellers in the United States and some European countries.

Her suspense genre was inspired by her urge to support her family's finances. She began writing again suspense novels, just like the first time she started writing. The book, "Where are the Children?" became a bestseller and then the rest is history.

Of all her 42 books, I was able to get copies of three of her novels namely No Place Like Home, While My Pretty One Sleeps, and Nighttime is my Time. And I must say, these books are a total must-read.

This will be a three-part blog entry. Each part will be my own review for each of the book I've read. For the first part, the book Nighttime is my Time will be reviewed.

Theatrical Release Poster

I am not really fond of watching Asian movies. Yet lately, Asian countries like Japan, South Korea and Thailand are creating movies that are not only for leisure, but also these movies impart great lessons.

Recently, I was browsing my news feed at Facebook, then some of the statuses I am reading are talking about this certain Korean movie. It's entitled as Miracle in cell No. 7. Well at first, I was not really interested about it. I thought, it may be like the usual movie about a prisoner or something. But, my cousin once told me that she already watched the movie and surprisingly, she said that it really made her cry that much. Then I thought, maybe I should try watching it. So, I do. And gosh, it almost felt like I cried a million tears. The movie is really heartbreaking. It is very touching. It was totally amazing.

Well, since this is a movie review, I'll just give you a synopsis of the story so that you'll get an idea what Miracle in Cell No. 7 is all about.

MOVIE PLOT:

Lee Yong-gu was a mentally-incapacitated father to a 6-year old girl, Ye-sung. They are happily living together, while Yong-gu is working as a parking lot attendant.

While I was browsing the net, I just saw this. Then I thought, what if instead of posting a status or picture of us as best friends, I'll just make a blog entry for you. Well, for a change. :)

I have this best friend. Her name is ANA MARGARITA C. CRUZ. And I'm about to tell you things I know and love about her. :) So let's spell it out!

B - Buddy

My buddy. My sister. We really enjoy each other's company. We have the same interests maybe that's the reason why we really get along with each other. We support each other. Actually, we don't fight. Really. maybe except for heart issues. HAHAHAHA. That's how close we are. That's how deep we understand each other.

She brings out all the best in me. Well, I hope I'm doing the same for her. :P She's my confidant. I can trust her with all my secrets. The same thing goes for me too, of course. :D

All I'm looking for a friend, she got it all. :)

Carbonara: The Easy way

4:11 PM 0 Comments A+ a-

I love pasta. Who hates them, anyway? I have tried so many different pasta dishes, but I find pasta served with white sauce much delectable than the usual pasta in red sauce. Carbonara is one of them. For introduction purposes, I would just tell a brief description about this pasta dish.

Spaghetti Carbonara
Carbonara is an Italian pasta (that's why I'm so in love with Italy. They create most of the best pasta dishes.) that originated from Rome. This pasta dish is based on eggs, cheese, bacon, and pepper.Spaghetti is usually used for this, however as different recipes evolve from time to time, other pastas can be used such as rigatoni, fettuccine, and penne.

As of today, many variations have arise in cooking Carbonara. Addition of other ingredients like mushroom, chicken, peas, etc. are also available now.

So, what I love with this pasta? well, I'm not-that-so a big fan of milk-based dishes, but Carbonara really suits my palate. Maybe because I love putting pepper in my food (but I'm not into spicy, take note.). And because of my addiction with this pasta dish, I've made my own version of it. Well, I don't have that much of the resources to cook with premium quality of ingredients so, I made it from scratch. I only use what is available in our very own kitchen. And because i'm so generous (the nerve, huh?! hahaha), I will be sharing with you my very own recipe. :)

Just Saying :P

Oh well, I've been busy with my writing job this past few days that I wasn't able to write new entries for my blog. So, I'm back. But the hell who cares? Duh. HAHAHA. Just kidding. :P

But honestly, I miss blogging. :3 I miss sharing my thoughts. This is where I release all my ideas, my worries. MYSELF. I find satisfaction whenever I write something. It gives me fulfillment. It gives me joy. IT GIVES ME FREEDOM.

So what's my point? NOTHING. I just want to write now. You know, the feels? Yeah, that's it. :D

I just wanna Feel This Moment. Woooooahhh! :D
