Fun Run!

FEBRUARY 2010. Falcon Let's Run. The first fun run sponsored by my school, Adamson University. Also in timed with the university's Foundation Week. Sobrang saya kasi kasama mo yung mga kaibigan mo. This also my first time to join such activity.

I remember I have to sleep over in my classmate's dormitory since I reside in Laguna and the call time for the activity is 4:00 AM. The night before the fun run, we went to Divisoria, the shopping center of Manila where everything is on sale. :D My classmates and I bought food for our dinner. We shopped for fresh Tilapia and veggies. Ang saya lang kasi nakakatawad ka nang hanggang kalahati sa presyo at sa Divisoria mo lang yun magagawa. After we went home, we cooked everything we bought, and it's a great feeling to be bonding with your friends, eat food we cooked ourselves, enjoying the fruits of our own efforts.

All throughout the night, all we did was share stories, do some girl talks. We stayed up until 2:00 AM since our guy friends are talking to us through a phone call since according to them, they are worried for us (Aren't they sweet? :3 HAHAHA) because we are all girls and we have to went outside as early as 3:00 AM to do some warm up. So that's it, moving on. We slept for an hour and when we woke up, we prepared for the fun run.

QUIRINO GRANDSTAND. The venue of the fun run. As early as 3:00 AM, the place was filled students, teachers, alumni, and other runners. It is a cold morning, but I can feel the excitement of each runner, eager to be the first to reach the finish line. Together with my friends, we took our places as the emcee announces for us to get ready. The participants in the 5-Km Run will start 15 minutes ahead of the participants in the 3-Km run, which we belong to. As we heard the signal, we ran as fast as we could. Syempre, gusto din namin mapalanunan yung cash prize para sa mananalo. Sayang din yun. HAHAHAHA.

When we reached halfway, the used-to-be a Fun Run became a Fun Walk. :D Well, we couldn't sustain our energy. Instead of continuing the race, together with my bestfriend, alongside with our guy friend as our photographer (hahaha. :P), we just went to the group of people doing the aerobics exercise, and join them. We also did some picture taking for remembrance. In the end, we weren't able to finish the race.

It is a great experience indeed. Even if no one in our circle of friends won the race, at the end of the day, it's the smiles that registered in our faces that made us first placers of the race. :)
