A great Cagbalete escapade we had!
Off the coast of Mauban, Quezon lies Cagbelete Island --- the perfect summer getaway that anyone should visit. Together with my workmates (the best travel buddies, ever!), we head on to this paradise to experience a great beach escapade.

The perks of living in the South, transportation means is very accessible for us.

HOW TO GET THERE:

  • From Turbina (Calamba, Laguna), we rode a bus heading to Lucena Grand Terminal. Bus fare costs 130.50php/pax. Estimated travel time: 3 hours.

Us in a bus heading to Lucena Grand Terminal.
  • Once Lucena Grand Terminal is reached, you can treat yourself by trying out different dishes being sold by food stalls located at the terminal. (Well, long travel time can make you hungry.) You have to walk to the other side of the terminal to be able to find the mini buses that travel to Mauban Port.

Off we go to the terminal to Mauban, Quezon.

Off we go!

Mini buses is the main means of transportation to Mauban Port. From the Grand Terminal, travel would take 30-45 minutes.
Travel Fare: 60.00php/pax.

Bus destination: Mauban Port

  • At Mauban Port, you can buy several goods from the market that is situated there. You can find goods from fresh seafoods to meat. From the market, a tricycle ride is needed to get to the ticketing office to purchase our boat ride tickets.
An additional 50.00php/pax should be paid as the environmental fee.

Quick pose at the ticketing office. :)

To the port we go!
  • For Public boat rides to Cagbalete Island, it will cost 50.00php/pax. But as for us, we prefer to rent a private boat to bring us to the island. The perks? Well, we don't have to walk just to reach our chosen resort, (Usually, those who choose to use public transport will have to walk for an additional of 15 minutes for them to reach their resort.) and we can manage our time since we will be the one to tell what time we can be fetched from the island. The rental of the the private boat costs 3000.00php.

  • The whole boat ride took one hour before we reached our destination.

Exciting boat ride!
  • Since it was low tide during that time, we have to walk to reach the shore. It was so sunny that time, but we never mind it since we are all excited.

Low-tide walk pose! :D
THE REAL DEAL

At last, we reached our destination! We chose the Villa Noe Beach since they have no bookings at that time so we were easily accommodated. Entrance fee only costs 50.00php/pax. They also provide rentals for kitchen utensils which costs 100.00php. Cooking station rentals cost 200.00php.

Destination reached! :)
We have rented a cottage good for 4-6 persons. It costs us 2500.00php/night.

The cottage we rent that is good for 4-6 persons.
Our cottage was located where we can see the full view of the beach and its horizons.

An overview of the beach.
Since we are too tired (and too hungry, too! :P) from the long hours of travel, we opt prepare first our food. Also that time, it is still low tide so we cannot enjoy the beach.

Our cooks for the day! :)
Water started to rise by late afternoon --- perfect moment to enjoy the waters since it is not too hot to go out. The water level at that time is only knee-high.

Say Cheeeeeeeseee! :)))

Swim, swim, swim! :)
After hours of playing in the water, we gathered to have some "chill" time and do some chit-chatting.

Time to chill after hours in the beach.
What is great with Cagbalete Island is its view, especially during early morning. The view is really spectacular.

Shot of the beach at 5:00 AM.

Hello, sunrise! :)
As much as we wanted to stay longer, we have to leave as early as possible since we considered the schedule of the low tide. To enjoy our remaining hours in this paradise, we all played in the waters. After that, we also took some pictures for us to capture the great moments we had at Cagbalete.

Time to pose!

Wacky shot! :D
Boat ride back to Mauban port.
Well, it's time for us to go home but we will take home the smiles that this adventure gave us. Indeed, summer is a never-ending season when you have these adventurous people to spend it with! JJ
