The story started when Adaline went to downtown to get her falsified passport and other identification cards. She constantly do this for the last eight decades. As she went back to her apartment, she just fed her dog and get ready to go to work in a library.

While working, she saw a film reel where her life is explained. Adaline Bowman was born on January 01, 1908. She had lived her life with full happiness as she got married and had a daughter which she named Flemming. But that moment was shortened as her husband died in a mining accident. An addition to the agony, as she drove her car to her parents on an unusual snowy night, she met an accident and died on frigid waters. But a strike of lightning gave back her life. Because of this incident, she got a rare condition where her aging stopped. She was only 29 years old. This condition of hers changed her life. She have to switch residence every ten years to keep people wondering of her unchanging appearance.

At present time setting, she went to a New Year's party where she met Ellis. Ellis got attracted with Adaline, but the latter was not interested to have something "more than friends" kind of relationship. The next day, one of her co-workers told her that a benefactor is interested in donating books for the library. finding out that it was Ellis. He told her that he will continue the donation if she agrees to go out with him. At first, she was hesitant but gave in eventually. They have been going out for a couple of times but a flashback of her and a former lover haunt her. This made Adaline left Ellis with no reason.

But Adaline realized that she is already falling for Ellis. She showed up to Ellis' apartment to apologize. Later on, he invited her to celebrate his parents' 40th wedding anniversary. When they got to his parents' house, William Jones, Ellis' father, got amazed as she saw Adaline. He told them that she looks like his friend of his whom he met in England in the 1960s. Adaline told that William is talking about her mom. The night ended with full of laugh.

The following day, as Adaline talked to William, he saw the scar he knew that was Adaline's. Because of this, Adaline had no idea but to tell the truth about her rare condition. William told her that she don't have to run away anymore, but Adaline still refused.

When she drove away from the Jones, she met again an accident when a truck plows into her, and for the second time, she died again. A chain of events is occuring since when a meteor strike the moon in 1178. One event is an unusual snow fall in the city. When rescue officers came, she was revived with a defribillator. The combination of hypothermia and electricity brought her back to life. As she was rushed to the hospital, there she was visited by Flemming and Ellis. Adaline told her daughter that Ellis already knew the truth.

Some time later. Adaline and Ellis is going to a New Year's party, and for the first time, Adaline saw a gray hair. At that time, she knew that she will be living her life as normal as it was supposed to be.

Review:

Age of Adaline taught us one thing: Love knows no time. For me, I find this film interesting since you can easily see the struggle of the main character. Though the rare condition of Adaline, which is some sort of cell ionization, is quite absurd, and no scientific fact is supporting such condition.

The film was able to cover real-time love circumstances, like May-December affair, though the men that Adaline dated never knew that she is 40-60 years older than them. Adaline has lived her life in solitary, and love has made her realized that she don't have to be alone all her life.

Nonetheless, I still recommend this movie. It is a fantasy and romance, all rolled into one.
It is one great story if you are a fan of fictional movies.

"It is not the same when there's no growing old together. Without that, love is just a heartbreak."
