The movie started when Henry and Maria Bennett, together with their sons Lucas, Thomas, and Simon, went to a resort in Thailand to have their Christmas vacation, not knowing that their enjoyment will be altered with a tragic event. A tsunami hit the place, wiping out every people and thing it passes through. The Bennett family got separated with each, leaving Maria and Lucas together, and Henry with Thomas and Simon.

I first time watched this movie last January 2013, and I was able to watch it the second time just recently that made me decide to do a review of this movie. It is a movie of despair and survival. This movie will make one realize how powerful the nature forces are, and how can it destruct one's life, at the same time, how it can make relationship ties get stronger.

What makes it a good piece? It will definitely give you a roller coaster of emotions. It is a story of a twist of fate that can change our points of view toward our lives. To give you valuable reasons, here are some points on why you shouldn't miss this movie:

1. It's terrifying.

Not to the point that it talks about zombies, or what. I mean that the situation itself; being hit by a tsunami, being separated with your family, and get tormented. Now that's what you call terrifying.

2. It is based from a true story.

What makes it interesting is that it is a real-life story of a family who was able to surpass the said tragedy. Now that's what you call A STORY.

3. It's heartwarming.

I assure you, it will really touch the deepest parts of your heart.

As for me, it is not really a story of the tsunami hit, it is about the FAMILY. Each portrayed character was able to pull off each scene perfectly to be able to deliver each scene to its viewers, at the same time translating each feeling of pain, agony, and love. I would say that this film is one of the best movies I have ever seen.

If you want a movie that gives a heavy feeling, but will be able to inspire and change how you see your family, then The Impossible is a definite choice.
