Blowing horns, lighting up fireworks, and a lot of more are done to scare evil spirits. These loud noises will somehow protect you from bad luck as you welcome the new year.

2.     Open all windows and doors for good fortune.

It is believed that opened doors and windows will invite all the good vibes to enter your houses and will make all the bad luck to leave yours.

As you welcome the new year, it is said that your year will become prosperous if you have coins in your pocket. Also, you can also scatter coins on tabletops for prosperity.

This is done especially by kids. They are encouraged to jump as high as they can for twelve times as it was believed that will make them taller. So for those who want to become taller (Well, including me. Hah! :D), why not try your luck and jump as the clock strikes 12 midnight. :)

6.     Fill all your containers with water.
