The Many Benefit of LASER Tag
If you first tell people that
you enjoy playing laser tag, odds are that they will be giving you odd looks.
Sure, most of the people who play laser tag are middle-school kids, but that
does not mean it is any less enjoyable for adults like you. Now, if you really
want people to look at you funny, you could tell them about the numerous
benefits that they can get from playing laser tag; you might even make them
interested in the process.
Okay, is it true that there are
benefits to playing laser tag? Of course, you may just be having too much fun
playing that you failed to notice them. To get you started, here are some of
the more obvious benefits of playing laser tag with your friends.
You’re
getting a good workout
This seems obvious enough. You
already know that the game will require you to run all over a wide playing
area, climbing ladders and stairs; you will also be carrying around quite a bit
of weight. You will be donning a vest that houses all of the sensors and other
kinds of hardware, that alone weighs a couple of pounds, add to that the weight
of the laser rifle and you will actually feel your muscles straining after
playing a couple of rounds.
Each round of laser tag usually
lasts 15 minutes each; that is 15 straight minutes of running and dodging enemy
fire. Your sweat will come pouring out of every pore after playing just a
single round of intensely competitive laser tag, and you will certainly burn
more than a few hundred calories after an afternoon’s worth of playing.
You
will learn to work as a team
Although you can play a
free-for-all game of laser tag (which is actually pretty fun), it is best if
you play in teams. When you play in teams, you will learn how to strategize to
beat the other players. For instance, there is a capture the base mode of play
wherein your goal, besides getting the highest scores at the end of the round,
is to capture the base of the enemy teams.
Sure, you could all go attacking
the other team’s base at once, but odds are they will be waiting for you and
will be picking you off one-by-one. You need to strategize and think of a way
you can infiltrate the other team’s base while protecting your own base from
their attackers.
You
will strengthen the bonds you have with your friends
Although you will be shooting
at each other (albeit using fake laser rifles) you and your friends will
actually feel closer to each other. This may sound corny, but friendships
forged in the battlefield (even if when you are using plastic laser rifles and
nobody died) last longer.
By now, you must have convinced your other
friends that laser tag is not just for kids (if not then you need to try again,
harder this time), so you should head on over to the nearest Lazer Extreme
branch and tell them to prepare themselves because they are in for a really
great time.
